The styrene (vinylbenzene) -based plastics, also known as styrenics, make up the fourth largest group of plastics, accounting for around 10% of total production.
Areas of application include the manufacture of switches, bobbins and housings. Furthermore, PS is also used in the construction industry, in model and backdrop construction, in precision engineering.
As food packaging, foam polystyrene is not
restricted, for example in yoghurt
cups, blister packaging etc.
